Michael's Wedding Contest, A Leap of Faith.

22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

Ephesians 5:22-33

New International Version (NIV)

All love stories are unique and there are infinite ways to love someone. But, what does that have to do with a pickle in a snow storm?
I entered Trav and I in a 5,000 dollar value wedding contest (link below) and I had to share our love story in 150 words or less. WOW. What an incredible thing to mull over.
Can I express to these judges the power of our love and the extravagance of our tale in less words than it takes to explain anything?
And how am I supposed to win?
Even with all this panic I tried. We'll see how it goes, I'll let you know.
In addition to my love story I had to submit ONE photo of us! Just one?! Soooo much pressure.

Any how this is the one I chose:

I thought it was fitting because in my story I explained how he provides for our son and I, and the rules say a picture of "you and your partner" so this way I was able to sneak baby H in there too. ;)
PLUS, this was the most recent professional photograph we've had taken (I can't wait for engagement photos!!).

This contest is so important to me because I am DEAD SET on "the date." Yes, THEE Date I want for our Weddin'. But Trav says it's all too soon for our Mason jar piggy bank. It's the biblical truth that wives should submit to husband's and do so gracefully so I must in good practice take what he says to heart. So this contest I pray will give us the simple, home grown, ceremony and reception that is filled with love, and on the date my heart desires.

And here's our "piggy" bank for giggles:

We've got work to do!
Are you in the process of planning your wedding? How are you getting creative in the budget process? Are you already married? Did you overcome the dollar and have a successful wedding? I'd love some comments or emails! Happy Tuesday y'all! Tomorrow my big fella will be 7 MONTHS OLD!! Be ready for a by month update!!

A Birthday Brunch!

Whew! I have been spinning these last few days! I am up to my neck in busy.
Some news on the wedding front- we have yet to set a date so that slows everything else but my brain is stewing and I even entered a contest for wedding help. Anyways, the more immediate task was throwing my younger sister a 19th birthday surprise party! All under 4 days and it went off without a hitch! It was brunch pink and blue themed with 11 close friends and family.
Here are some pictures from today!

I used mason jars to hold the plastic ware and paper straws added a little something extra don't you think?

"Having a great time!"

In the decanters I have some plan ol' OJ and a "Sparkling Strawberry Smoothie" Which was sparkling Welch's grape juice mixed with a Naked smoothie.

On the menu I used a lot of ready-made things such as a fruit tray turned into kabobs on a pretty platter and bagged Caesar salad with all the fixin's included!

Slurpin' from a Jar later after the party!

And I had to finish off with my Beautiful sister Caitlyn Elaine blowing out her candle on her cinnamon roll!
Have you hosted any parties lately? Are you planning on it soon? If you want my help email me or comment below on anything you see! Happy Sunday!

Unexpected Post- Printables!

I don't normally like to post more than once a day with my crazy busy schedule but I found an opportunity to connect with readers through this!

Before my recent venture (still a rocky start) with Blogging I would communicate my ideas and experiences with my Instagram followers (@carrynbabyyy , I need to change this it's like 3 years old). Well, I posted a picture of my to-do list my friends liked it and it really does work so well for me so I will share it with y'all!

I Google image searched the printable to try to find its origin because I can't remember where I found it but it seems like a lot of other bloggers have attached it to their page!

Home Life Simplified did a great post linking together all different to do list printables including the one I have above.
Here's the printable I used below!

I look forward to your feedback on how this printable works for you and if you liked any of the others from Home Life Simplified!

My Next post will be a Brain dump from my infant amateur photo shoot, a review of the smash kit (that I love) which may possibly be my first Vlog post, AND my NC pictures from our trip! Goodnight y'all!

Mini Family vaca and stuff I love!

Okay, so I have a huge history test today (yuck!) but I also had a really fun weekend with my boys in North Carolina! It was a spontaneous road trip to visit my SIL and MIL! It was so fun and quaint in Franklin, NC and Harrison did so well on his first road trip, he was so patient and fun! As far as "Stuff I love" for this Monday, it has to be quality time, that turns to memories and documenting them. So I'm gonna buy a smash kit(they have them at target)! I'll go into detail and post a link later when I get home, but also some pictures from my trip!

Happy Monday, y'all!

How was your weekend?!
How do you record your family memories?

Even those who do it all take breaks!

Whew! Is it only Wednesday y'all?! How's your week? Any projects? New recipes?
Well for me, I took off today. Yep, I slept in, ate a big breakfast, and go out with my girlfriend and my baby. We had such a fun calorie and beauty product filled day!
When you feel overwhelmed it isn't terrible to take an off day. No one is perfect and sometimes you need to reboot and get yourself through the rest of the week.
Some pictures from today below!
Harrison sat up on his own for so long!

Harrison with Meaghan at his first trip to the Nail Salon!

Peach for spring!

I wish I could remember the name of this book!

& playing at the make up counter in Dillard's!

So enjoy the rest of your week, I'll post about Harrison's homemade 6 month photo shoot this weekend!

I can't get enough Red Stamp!

Happy Monday, y'all!
I think after a long weekend of fun I think I should keep it going with a "Stuff I love" Post!

So here this goes. Are any of you iPhone users? Do you have Red Stamp? I am and I do! I love this app. Of course I haven't sent a postcard yet but I can't wait until an occasion to do it!
What I've actually been doing is playing with invitation ideas and recording memories and milestones!

Here are a few of my Red Stamp projects:

It's a simple, sweet, thoughtful way to show loved ones what you're up to! And for free (unless you send a paper post card).
You can find Red Stamp in the App Store!

What is an app you love? How does it add to your life?

Harrison's First Birthday (Preview and a Craft).

My sons first birthday is roughly 6 months away. Yes, my first born is half way through babyhood! I'm all choked up about it, but so excited ya'll! I decided even though it is still a ways away that I wanted to get a jump on it! With that being said I already have the following:

  • Theme! (Trying to keep it a secret for now)
  • Centerpieces completed
  • Two games
and so many more incomplete pieces!
I love to craft so let me give you a sneak peak at some things I've already made!
These are my homemade center pieces fashioned from old formula cans and some scrapbooking paper and other odds and ends all from Joann's fabrics (their website). While these are for my son's July first birthday party with a specific theme they could be used for any other out door event with different arrangements!

Here's my little booger earlier this afternoon posin' for his six month old photo shoot, I'll blog about homemade infant photo shoots soon!

I took these with my Sony Cybershot, no biggie  and no money to hire a photographer!
I hope ya'll have a happy Super bowl Sunday!
